Does Sonia Gandhi Know?
image : indpride.com
  • Nehru on the issue of Foreign Origin

In 1950, the then Maharaja of Indore, Yashwant Rao Holkar, wanted his son Richard, born of his American wife, to succeed him as the ruler of Indore. However, the then Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru (along with Sardar Patel and Rajendra Prasad) objected, making it clear that the son of his foreign wife could not succeed him. Nehru couldn't allow foreign blood even as a powerless Maharaja to inherit a title, let alone power!

  • Court's decision on the Gandhi murder case in which the Congress alleges that RSS was involved

The fact is that RSS has been absolved of the charge by a number of courts and commissions: by the special trial court of Atmacharan (this special court was set-up to try the accused in the Gandhi murder case); by the High Court; and by the Kapur Commission which was set up in 1966 under T. L. Kapur, Supreme Court judge, to make a fresh and thorough inquiry into the conspiracy of Mahatma Gandhi’s murder. The Commission sat at different places, examined more than 100 witnesses and 407 documents, and published its report. Deposing before this commission, Mr. R. N. Banerjee, the Union Home Secretary at the time of Gandhiji's assassination, testified that no member of the RSS was involved in the assassination. The report says the following about the RSS: "It (RSS) had a slant against Gandhism but its anti-Gandhism did not seem to go to the extent of personally harming Mahatma Gandhi." (Kapoor Commission Report, Vol.II, p.75).

  • Nehru on RSS against which Sonia and her comrades have started a hate campaign

During the China war in 1962, while the Indian Communists were busy welcoming the invaders, the Swayamsevaks of the RSS swung into action mobilising support to the governmental measures in general and to the jawans in particular. Pandit Nehru was so impressed that he invited a Sangh contingent to take part in the Republic Day Parade of 26th January 1963. When, later on, some Congressmen raised their eyebrows over the invitation to Sangh, Pandit Nehru brushed aside the objections saying that all patriotic citizens had been invited to join the parade.

  • Who was the Advocator of the Two-Nation Theory?

Under Sonia’s leadership Congress protested against the move to install Swatantryaveer Savarkar's portrait in the Central Hall of Parliament because of his alleged advocacy of the two-nation theory. The real advocator of the two-nation theory was the Muslim League, in coalition with which the Congress has formed a government at the center. Savarkar, on the other hand, had protested against the two-nation theory.

  • Indira Gandhi on Swatantryaveer Savarkar against whom the Congress is now sponsoring a vilification campaign

Indira Gandhi’s remarks (in contrast to her daughter-in-law’s opinion) were, "Savarkar was a great figure of contemporary India and his name is byword for daring and patriotism. He was cast in the mould of a classic revolutionary, and countless people drew inspiration from him."

Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister had written to the secretary of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak Samiti on May 20, 1980: "Veer Savarkar's daring defiance of the British Government has its own important place in the annals of our freedom movement. I wish success to the plans to celebrate the birth centenary of this remarkable son of India." She also donated Rs. 10,000 for anniversary celebrations. It was during her time that a postal stamp was issued in the memory of Savarkar.

  • Nehru on Indian Communists with whose support the Congress has now formed a Government

This is what Pt. Nehru had said, “The Indian Communists are certainly not patriots. They are not interested in the well-being of Indian people, whatever other cause they may be seeking to serve. They speak about the country in a derogatory manner abroad. They preach violence which can only lead to a disastrous civil war.”

  • Nehru on Article 370 which now the Congress believes is our solemn commitment to the people of Kashmir

Pt. Nehru, on 27th November 1963, during the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha said, "Our view is that Article 370, as is written in the Constitution, is a transitional, in other words a temporary provision. And it is so........As a matter of fact as the Home Minister has pointed out, it has been eroded, if I may use the word, and many things have been done in the last few years which have made the relationship of Kashmir with the Union of India very close. There is no doubt that Kashmir is fully integrated.......So we feel that this process of gradual erosion of Article 370 is going on......"
